Help Your Members Get $1,000s in Health Benefits They've Earned

Most moderate income seniors in MA and CT are eligible for $1000s (sometimes $10,000s) a year in state and federal programs they don't know about, can't navigate, or don't have time to apply for. Usher screens them, enrolls them, and provides ongoing care navigation — at no cost to your organization or your members.

The Problem

Across 43 state and federal programs in Massachusetts and Connecticut, underutilization rates range from 31% to 96%. The average household we screen recovers $1,000s per year in benefits — money that’s already allocated, already funded, and sitting unclaimed.

Your members are almost certainly leaving benefits on the table. Not because they’re not eligible — but because the system is too complex, too fragmented, and too time-consuming to navigate alone.

The most underutilized programs are often the most valuable: home care waivers worth $30,000–$60,000 per year go unclaimed by 70–93% of eligible people. Veterans benefits worth $10,000–$33,000 per year are missed by 77–90%. Even basic programs like SNAP and fuel assistance have 66–80% underutilization among eligible seniors.

What Your Members Get

Thousands in annual savings foundWe screen against every available program in a single session. Most members qualify for 3–7 programs they didn't know about, worth an average of $8,000+ per year.

Full enrollment handledWe don't hand people a list and wish them luck. We complete applications, gather documents, submit everything, and follow up until they're approved.

Ongoing care navigationBenefits are just the beginning. Members get a dedicated navigator who schedules appointments, coordinates care across providers, manages medication costs, and advocates with insurance.

Family caregiver supportWe help family members access programs that pay them for care they're already providing — up to $20,000–$40,000 per year in Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Zero costUsher's services are covered by Medicare. There is no fee to partners, and no fee to the people we serve.

How It Works

1

Onboarding Call

We learn about your organization, the population you serve, and how we can best reach your members. We tailor our approach to your setting — whether that’s a senior center, faith community, health center, pharmacy, or Area Agency on Aging.

2

Choose an Outreach Method

You pick from a menu of engagement options based on what works for your organization. Some partners host events; others share information through existing channels; others provide warm introductions. We support all of them.

3

We Engage Your Members

Our navigators connect with your members through the outreach method you choose — screening events, one-on-one conversations, follow-up calls, or embedded office hours at your location.

4

Comprehensive Benefits Screening

Each member gets a full screening against 43+ state, federal, and private programs. We explain what they qualify for, what each program is worth, and what happens next.

5

Enrollment and Ongoing Care

We handle applications, documents, and follow-up for every program. Then we stay with each member as their dedicated navigator — managing renewals, coordinating care, scheduling appointments, and advocating with insurance. The relationship doesn’t end at enrollment.

Ways to Connect Your Members

Choose one or more approaches that fit your organization:

  • Co-host a benefits event. We set up at your facility and run a "Benefits Check" clinic — screening members on-site during a scheduled event, lunch program, health fair, or community gathering.

  • Introduce our navigator during existing programming. We join an existing activity, meeting, or service to briefly introduce Usher and invite interested members to schedule a screening.

  • Distribute materials to your members. We provide flyers, brochures, or handouts for you to share at your front desk, in mailings, on bulletin boards, or during regular interactions.

  • Add us to your newsletters or emails. We provide a short blurb and link for your existing email communications, newsletters, or digital channels.

  • Share member contact information for direct outreach. With appropriate consent, you share contact information for members who may benefit, and our navigators reach out directly by phone or mail.

  • Provide a referral when members ask for help. When members ask about benefits, insurance, or navigating the system, your staff refers them to Usher for a free screening.

  • Embed a navigator at your location. For higher-volume partners, we station a navigator at your facility for regular office hours — available on a recurring schedule for walk-in or scheduled screenings.

Launch

We’re launching partnerships in Greater Boston and Greater New Haven and looking for organizations to participate. Collaboration is straightforward:

  1. 1

You refer 10 or more members to us for a free benefits screening

  2. 2

We screen each member, identify every program they qualify for, and handle enrollment

  3. 3

We share outcome data with you — dollars in benefits recovered, programs enrolled, member satisfaction

  4. 4

If the results work for your members, we formalize the partnership

We’re working with senior centers, Area Agencies on Aging, faith communities, independent pharmacies, FQHCs, hospitals, senior housing, and community organizations in both markets.
